Every Day By: David Levithan

At the beginning of the book a character called A is introduced. He/she is a spirit traveling from one body to another everyday. When A is in a body he has access to the person's memories. One day he is a boy named Justin. Justin has a friend named Rhiannon who A falls in love with. The next day and the few days after that he tries to meet her, for example, A pretends to be a person moving to their school and asks Rhiannon to show him around. The next day he is Nathan and goes to a party Rhiannon will be at. He gets late going home because he lost track of time while talking to Rhiannon. If he is not asleep by midnight he gets ripped out of the body, so he decides to park Nathan's car on the side of the highway and goes to sleep. He finds a website a few days later which Nathan made about that day. He tells Nathan the truth and Nathan continuously messages him asking more questions. He later on tells Rhiannon that he is a travelling spirit, but Rhiannon does not believe him. The next day he is in the body of Rhiannon and writes a note to her for when she returns.

Rhiannon falls in love with A as well, but  they have trouble keeping their relationship because A goes into a different body everyday. Nathan calls A and tells him this is the last time he will ever bother A if he agrees to come to Nathan's house. A agrees, but when he goes to Nathan's house there is a priest there that wants to talk to A alone. The priest tells A that he is too a travelling spirit like A and they can stay in a body forever if they wish to and can do much more than A is doing right now.

A calls Rhiannon and tells her this is the last time he needs to see her. She comes and they stay in Alexander's tree house in the backyard. A tells her he knows how to stay in a body for longer, but won't because he does not know what will happen to Alexander. Rhiannon gets very upset with him and asks why he called her here if he was not going to do that. A says he can't keep her like this and he thinks Alexander is a lot like him so he wants Rhiannon to be with Alexander.

This story makes me wonder if there are any spirits in real life like A that travel from body to body every day. If there are do they leave any traces behind that they are real. I wonder if they can stay in a body longer than one day like how A discovers later on. What happens to the person when someone like A is in their body? What would happen to the person if the spirit found a way to stay in their body forever?

I was really surprised when A went into the body of Rhiannon who was the girl he liked. Each chapter started with the name of the person who’s body A was in and how far he was from Rhiannon. In the chapter that he was her, every paragraph would begin with “this is how it feels to hold a pencil in her hand” or something like that

The story problem was that A and Rhiannon liked each other, but they could not find a way to stay together because A goes into a different body every day. A found out that there was a way to stay in a body longer than one day and called Rhiannon to talk to her about that. When Rhiannon at Alexander’s house the person that A is for the day, he takes her to his tree house and tells her that he can stay in a body for longer. Rhiannon is really happy, but then he says he doesn’t want to which makes Rhiannon very upset. He tells her that Alexander’s like him and if she looks close enough she will find him in there. He tells her he can’t stay in that body because he doesn’t know what would happen to Alexander.

I did not like the ending because it was very sad. During the book when A was not with Rhiannon or when she did not reply to his e-mails right away, he would be very anxious. At  the  end  he  just  left her  with a guy he thought  was  like  him.  A  found  out  how  to  stay  in  a  body  longer  than  a  day  so  I  think  he should  have  just  stayed  in  that  body with  Rhiannon.

Overall I really liked this book and would definitely recommend it to whoever likes reading suspenseful books.  I thought a character like A was a very creative idea. I would rate this book 9/10 because I did not really like the ending.

Animal Kingdom by: David Burnie, Dr. Barry Clarke, Colin Mccarthy, Laurence Mound and Steve Parker

In the book Animal Kingdom, Discover the extraordinary world of animals I learned many things about animals. I thought the coolest animal was the immortal jellyfish and here is a video about it:

This book is organized by the kind of animal they are talking about, for example fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, birds and mammals. I liked how this part was organized because you could easily find the animal you were looking for. The chapter names were more specific like  the animal's past, how it is in the present, bones, shapes and colours as well as where and how they live.

One way the authors made the topic interesting was by adding colourful pictures and little paragraphs on the side. I thought this was a very clever way to give more information on the animal. The paragraphs had interesting information on the topic the chapter was about. The colourful pictures made it easy to know what they were talking about. It was great for visual learners.

This book makes me more curious about the extraordinary world of animals and I want to learn more about animals. There were many animals that were interesting such as Elephant bird which is now extinct. The Elephant bird's egg is  more than 7 times bigger than an Ostrich egg, which weighs about 1.5kg.

On the left is the Elephant bird's egg and beside that is the Ostrich egg, beside that is a Chicken egg and to the very right is a Humming bird egg.

The illustrations were very helpful understanding the topic. They also had labels, especially when they were explaining the bones and the muscles  of the animal. There were some maps as well showing where all the animals lived.

Overall I really liked this book and would recommend this to anyone who wants to be a vet or even if they like animal and want to read about them. It was a really nice book, but it was very time consuming. It was very informative, which I like.

Geronimo Stilton And The Dragon Prophecy By: Geronimo Stilton

In the book Geronimo Stilton And The Dragon Prophecy, Trap, Geronimo's cousin  throws a party at Geronimo's house while he is away on vacation. This reminds me of a time when my family and I were at the mall and our neighbors came into our backyard and the kids asked their grandma if they could jump on our trampoline, without asking us she said "yes"  to the kids and they were jumping on our trampoline for almost 2 hours. When we came back, nobody was there, but our trampoline was a little ripped. Our neighbors did not admit that they came there, but we saw the proof on the camera.

After about two weeks the Dragon Of The Rainbow arrived at Geronimo's house. He took Geronimo to the Kingdom Of Fantasy and on the way they stopped the magical talking trees from burning down. As a token of their appreciation they told him why princess Sterling needed hid help and gave him a clue on finding the stolen egg. I believe another reason for this might have been to teach kids to help anyone they can on their way.

After Geronimo reaches Sterling's castle, he is served dinner which is very spicy since mostly dragons live there. He slept very uncomfortably on the rock bed. The next day she tells that he will be sent to a place to investigate the incident, the location of the egg had to remain a secret so Geronimo was blind folded. That reminded me of when my brother and I created a special gift for my parents. We blindfolded them so they would not see it.

At the end, Geronimo figured out King Fire Breath lll stole the dragon egg following Crackle's command. He used the clues and figured it out with the help of his friends. At the end he thanked all his friends and they had a big party to celebrate and he could ask for anything, but he didi not want anything. King Fire Breath was banished, but then Geronimo reconsidered his wish and asked not to banish King Fire Breath. This part taught me to always forgive even if they do something bad to you. but are truly sorry.
Overall I thought the book was really good and I really enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend especially if they like reading fantasy books.
